A bit about me, Sandra

So, I thought it was about time for me to tell you a little bit more about the faces or should we say face behind Essential thyme.

Me, Sandra.

Essential thyme is made up of 3 areas

  • Massage therapy
  • Massage Training
  • Products

I thought it would be good to tell you a little bit about how these came about and what it is I do in each area.

    Massage Therapy

I trained in massage therapy at New College in Durham. When people come to me they aren’t always sure on what they need, they have the idea of a traditional massage and what that might look like but ultimately the best way to find out what the individual needs is through a consultation.

If you’re looking for a spa-type massage complete with whale music, you’re in the wrong place. But if you’re tired of being in pain and need help targeting and fixing it, I then I am here help.

    Massage Training

    training

I decided in 2020 to start creating my own training courses. I love to learn new skills and to be able to widen the offerings to my clients.

I was finding than when I was wanting to upskill and add new services, I was having to travel a lot to get the courses I needed. This showed me there was a gap in the market for courses in the North East as well as being able to offer courses online.

I know that as a massage therapist there may be a time when I need to step back from this so having the courses and teaching allows me to future proof my career and gives me the opportunity to pass on the valuable knowledge, I have in the industry for many years to come.

    Products

    products

The products side of my business came about during lockdown. As you can imagine this closed the doors to the clinic and meant I could no longer continue with my biggest income source so like many businesses I had to think outside the box.

I had a number of essential oils; I had training in how these oils could benefit people and knew there was a way I could pull all this together. So along came the essential thyme product range. I make all of the wax melts, candles, soaps myself by hand and not only was this a great way to use the time in lockdown it allowed me to create an additional income in a difficult time.

Since then, the product range has expanded, and I am able to offer a range of products that I not only make but that can complement in my teaching and in the massage therapy.

    Getting in touch

So, as you can see, I wear a number of hats at Essential Thyme. Not only to future proof my business and career but to fulfil the passions I have in each area.

If you call and I don’t answer, please don’t be offended there is a good chance I am in with a client or busy teaching. I don’t have a receptionist to take the call and book the appointments for me, but I will be back in touch and make sure to respond as soon as I can.

    Essential Thyme

I am proud of the business I have grown and the people I have surrounded myself with to be able to offer the services I do and look forward to continuing to keep training the future generation of massage therapists and keeping you free of those aches and pain.

If you have any questions at all about my journey or how you could create a business in this industry, then don’t hesitate to get in touch.
