Safe use of Christmas Essential Oils
When making a blend less is always more when it comes to using essential oils.
When creating a blend to use straight into a diffuser I would recommend a maximum of 5 drops if using different essential oils. If you are just using the one oil keep it to 2-3 drops maximum.
The best diffusers are the electrical mist diffusers as they do not heat up the oil. If at any time the mist/aroma affects anyone’s breathing, then switch off and make sure the room becomes well-ventilated by opening doors and windows.
Be careful if you have pets in the home. Make sure when a diffuser is on that it is out of the reach of the pet (also children). Additionally, make sure there is a door or window open so they can leave the room if the aroma is too overpowering for them.
Be mindful that the following oils can be toxic to cats and dogs – Tea Tree, Pine, Peppermint, Cinnamon, Clove & Eucalyptus.
